Choosing Green Pest Control Products

After my niece had a serious reaction to pest control, I realized that we were up against a few big problems. For starters, I knew that we needed to identify the types of pests that we were struggling with, and then we needed to find green products that would be safe for her to be around. It was a little bit of a challenge at first, but within a few weeks we found a company that offered the perfect line of products. I wanted to start a blog completely committed to pest control, so I started this site. Read more about keeping your family safe here.

Termite Control: How Do You Control Termites On Your Property?

Blog

If you think you have termites on your property, then you should have termite control specialists come to your home to see how bad the problem is and to determine the type of termites you have on your land. Often, the subterranean termite is to blame for home destruction, and only a few areas in the US are not susceptible to this type of damage.

While not all termite damage is severe, it's wise to consider termite control as soon as you notice an issue. How do you control termites on your property? Here's a guide to help you out.

Find where the termite colonies are

You'd be surprised to know that termite colonies can be very small with only a measurable amount of termites to giant mounds with countless termites invading your home. Locating your termite mounds will help you determine how large your problem is and will also identify the type of termites you're working with. If you want to look under your home for termite mounds, this is helpful. Most termite mounds (or nests) will be found in or around your property with close proximity to the entrances they are using to get in and out of your home.

Create an extermination plan

To fully exterminate termites on your property, coming up with an extermination plan is an excellent idea. You need to have a plan in place to rid your home of termites so you can keep them away for good. This is where your termite control specialist comes into play. There are traps, poisons, treatments, and other methods of termite removal you can try on your land (toxins are not recommended if you have pets and children who can access chemicals in your house). Once your termites have been treated, repeat visits from your termite control specialist will be necessary to ensure your termites don't return.

Have a follow-through

Once your termites have been removed, it's wise to keep your termite control specialist on hand to help you in the event your problem recurs. You never know when a new termite colony will show up or when your termites will continue to be an issue, so having a plan in place to have regular checkups and inspections can help you keep your termite problems entirely under control.

If you have termites on your property, then you want to do what you can to get rid of them. Termite control is a great way to ensure your termite problem is taken care of.
